We will be leaving for C.S. Mott Children's hospital in Ann Arbor, MI, in 10 days. It is hard to believe that it is already time! Alexander's surgery isn't until the 19th, but the pre-op tests take place on the 18th.
I have yet to speak directly with Dr. Bove who will be doing the surgery. I (like most moms) have a million questions. Dr. Rajan, Alexander's Cardiologist, has answered quite a few and speaks very highly of Dr. Bove.

Victoria - Our daughter, Caylen, had her two open heart surgeries in December 2007 at age six months. We traveled from NC to C.S. Mott for Dr. Bove to perform her surgery. He is an AMAZING doctor. You can email him (I have his email address) in advance with any questions and he will be happy to answer them for you. He did this for us and even answers any questions we have now 2.5 years later.
ReplyDeleteWe were in Michigan for nearly two months. Caylen was born with heterotaxy, TGA, dextrocardia, av discordance, VSD, pulmonary stenosis, among other defects. Dr. Bove was chosen by her doctors at Duke as Caylen's surgery was very rare and he had taken the procedure and created a modified version for other defects. She had her first surgery on Dec. 12 and the second, to implant a pacemaker on Jan. 2.
